Thank you for the information! I'm afraid I just might have to label it Ardisis spp. in the mean time as it appears much too young to flower for me and I'm not very knowledgeable about Ardisia to know which ones are commonly used as houseplants. I believe Ardisia humilis is, I'm not sure about A. elliptica though. Unfortunately, those appear to be similar looking. I may just have the case of "it's too young to tell" lol.

The leaves do appear to alternate, meaning when you look down at it, it makes a + sign (two leaves make the arms, the following set of leaves beneath make the head and body--- if this makes sense).
