If Rorschach Test is a true applique, then here is what 2 of it's children looked like this past season:

Seedling #1 (ZZZ70):

Seedling #2 (ZZZ71):

Thumb of 2015-12-22/beckygardener/da841d

The parents to these 2 siblings are "Hotter Than the Fourth of July" x "Rorschach Test". This was the first year they bloomed, so maybe the applique will become more pronounced over the next year or two .... or not. I won these 2 seedlings from Rich over a year ago. Unfortunately, they are both rust susceptible. Probably rusty 4.0 or higher. But I plan to use them in my hybridizing program because I love the colors and the interesting patterns on the bloom. And they were both taller than most of my other seedling's scapes. So they have good qualities, but the rust is an issue that I was disappointed about. Never fails. I find a daylily plant I love and it's rust susceptible. What's a daylily lover supposed to do? Sighing!
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.
