Kathy, we didn't put up a tree, either. We decorated, but we spent Christmas at my parents' house this past weekend, at my husband's cousin's house yesterday, and today will be at my mother-in-law's house. We didn't want to do a tree if no one is coming here to see it (although we did other decorations).

Please tell your son thank you for his service. I never fully appreciated everything they go through in the military until I married a military guy myself. It takes a lot of dedication and heart. Your son must be a great guy. (And you a great mom...it's tough having a son in the military...that takes a certain type of courage, respect, and love.)

As for your rice, sounds delicious! I'm a huge fan of rice pudding!
