The fact that it is registered as Goldner Webster means it is a dual registration. Although hybridized by Al Goldner, he didn't register it and someone named Webster registered it after his death. I don't know if that was Richard Webster or someone else w/ o pulling up the hybridizer lists on the Portal. Sometimes those who aren't familiar with registering make mistakes and think that when the registration sheet asks for buds ( right after it asks for branching) that it means buds PER branch rather than total buds for the entire scape. This has happened before, even Ned Roberts registered some this way (incorrectly) but I think all of those errors have since been changed. There are still some registered incorrectly in the DB by the registrants, who misunderstand the directions that bud count should reflect the entire scape bud count and not just the branch. My guess is that this registrant meant that this cultivar had five buds on each of the four branches, which makes more sense that it would have 20 buds per scape. That also reflects more what I've seen on this cultivar in gardens.

Webster's Pink Wonder was registered this incorrect way too, with regard to bud count, and I spoke to Rob Cobb( Richard Webster's grandson) who had actually done the registering. He mentioned that it had an abysmal bud count in TX where he lives, but that he was going to go back and change it. However, to the best of my knowledge, this was never followed through with. Regrettable, since it won the 2015 SSM.
