Little about myself and gardening. Avid grower of Aloes, Agaves, and cactus. Love Euphorbias, Echinopsis and Trichocereus too
All of these suitable for zone 9b which is low Sonoran desert in Arizona. You know, the place with 2 seasons: Cold, and the other side--- Hot, Are you serious? and I'm in Hell.
Our Winter temps range from 47 to 65 in the day time in the 'Winter' with periods of rain and have nights of 26-43 degrees (usually all in one week.
) This is from late November through very early February.
'Spring' ranges from the 60-85 in the day and from 37-47 at night. This is usually from February to the beginning of May. Perfect Paradise here.
'Summer' starts mid May and lasts through early October and starts off at 85 and climbs to an average of 112 and has quite a few days at 115-118. Nights are in the 90s!
'Fall', if such an animal exists goes from mid October to late November and cools down
into the 90s to low 60s very rapidly!
So there you have my growing environment! Anyone else out here with me?
I have to catch up with the post and go back and read to see where we are at and what we're talking about but looking forward to joining in. Oh, love succulents but not much of a grower of them out here. Make a joke; I call them chips and dip because that's what they turn into. They either fry to a crisp due to the heat and resemble potato chips or in attempts to keep them alive they become a pile of green gelatinous goo that resembles guacamole. See...chips and dip! Love hearing and learning about succulents though.
Anyone else avid fans of Agaves and Aloes and small 'bubble' type of cacti?
