A friend had cut down a huge maple tree and each year it produced tall, very straight upright branches. The Italian man from next door would harvest these to use as tomato stakes. Non-invasive. Thumbs up


Is that the same as coppicing? Cutting a tree down to a stump, then letting the suckers grow back?
