Plantcollector, I kept thinking that 2nd cactus looked like something that I'd seen before, but couldn't remember the name of it. Then I was going through some older posts of a thread about other plants orchid growers had, in the Orchid forum and saw a picture of a similar plant, which @Ursula said was Hildewintera aureispina, a cristate that she allows to revert to the original form with the hanging stems like yours. So I googled it and came to this link with a plant more like yours and the name I'd been wrecking my brain trying to remember:

I found out that Hildewintera has been renamed Cleistocactus winteri. Here's our database link which lists it's common name Golden Rat Tail Cactus. (@Cinta was definitely in the right ballpark) Thumbs up : Golden Rat Tail (Borzicactus aureispinus) or depending on the bloom color, another possibility: Borzicactus icosagonus subsp. icosagonus
LMK what you think.
