If you're ready to plant them I'd say go ahead. I'm assuming your area will be cool for the next 6 weeks or so? If so they'll be fine planted in the ground. If you pot them I would recommend either keeping the pot in the fridge or under mulch outside- if the pot freezes before they're rooted the bulbs will rot.
