I plant all hyacinths in the soil outside. They always grow and bloom beautifully. If I buy some that have been forced from Walmart or some similar store, when they finish blooming I go ahead and plant them out unless it is extremely cold (20 or below) which doesn't happen that often where I live. The only thing I have done differently this year was to try to force some in soil. I read up on this on seedscatters blog (http://seedscatterer.blogspot....) since she does it successfully. I typed hyacinths in to the search box at the top of her blog and read all her posts. Hyacinths are probably the easiest spring bulb to grow.
