Lynn, I have burned through many sedums finding out what will work here or not. I would think it would preform beautifuly in your climate. It is one of the hardiest sedums I have tested. I am in zone 8 as well. I have never in three years seen it fazed by cold but it does slow down and decline a little in august. I decline at over 100 degree temps so I give it some slack. This pic has it growing in less than an inch of soil on a rock. Hands down hardy I would have to say.
