A one year old group that is providing an umbrella organization for all things Monarch related in Missouri. Initially comprised of Master Gardener Groups, Master Naturalist groups and local gardening groups and two relevant state agencies. Now including all those as well as approximately 40 federal and state agencies, NGOs, utilities, cities & towns, .

Its primary purpose is to provide one place to teach, educate, distribute seed and plant things. Rather than 50 - 200 groups/orgs all going in different directions, duplicating things, and so on. Primarily directed at Monarchs, Milkweeds and nectar sources, but broadly embracing other pollinators as well.

Today I was named Regional Coordinator for Northwest Missouri. This includes the I - 35 corridor which is a major item in the Monarch Conservation Fund and actions by US Fish & Wildlife.

As my first action, I visited my Mayor's office to get the ball rolling on him joining Mayors for Monarchs - a nationwide effort sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation.

I will keep ATP members appraised of anything I think may have broader application or interest.
