Meadowsweet is a "tough as nails" plant that thrives in the moist shade. It is shrub like and can become quite woody over time making division a chore but not necessary. They are a no fuss type of plant.There are many attractive cultivars, at various heights. Here are a few examples:


This next one is a young plant in my garden; I hope it will flourish as the leaf markings are very attractive.
