It looks like Fritillaria to me. Not sure of the which one. The leaves of this fritillaria can look much different when the bulb is not big enough to produce flowers. It is in the lily family for sure. I see that they don't naturally occur in Tx. May be Ladybird Johnson has been there. Perhaps it's is an Erythronium.
