I am in love with the banners. All of them.

This sedum above is wonderful...it should be called
"In My Easter Bonnet"

It reminds me of long ago Easter in the 50's ....the sweet fragrance of hot cross buns wafting out of the bakery on the avenue... ...Sunday mass....patent leather "T" straps, REAL silk stockings, and a new black patent purse..a new spring coat if there was money for such an extravagance, and the requisite bonnet....well, the colors of this ATP banner says it all about that long ago bonnet.

Oh my heart feels so good!

I remember the dress that went with that bonnet had lilac sprays all over it. And the patent leather shoes had "princess" heels. I bet mom had to talk dad into those grown up shoes.

I had forgotten ALL of that...the church bells calling everyone to mass. The envelope with the dollar bill in it. All us catholic girls in our springtime finery ...walking the few Brooklyn blocks to Saint Sylvester's. We made a fine parade in pastel, chiffon, and lace.

Smiling thru tears and all because of a photo.
My mom and dad are long gone now.

Ah, childhood memories

Thank you Clint Brown!
Don't squat with yer spurs on!

People try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved
