Good for you! We all feel overwhelmed at times. But it's wonderful that you've taken stock and know that you need to set goals and work toward them.
I think as gardeners, we all tend to want to "save stuff". It's just so tempting to think "oo I could use that!" Two years ago, I hauled in a dozen big plaster molds that are used to cast ceramic pieces....they were just so BEAUTIFUL. And there they sit, in basement and garden shed, useless. *LOL* I've finally figured out a use for them. I'm going to smash them into pieces and use them to add lime to my lavender patch.
If I might make a couple of suggestion: I am always making To-Do lists. And usually I end up feeling frustrated and overwhelmed because so little gets crossed off. So what I've been doing lately is making "Done That" lists. Every morning I decide on just five things that HAVE to be done today. Even if it's just things like sweep off the deck or do a load of laundry. And you know, usually once you start in one thing, something else also gets done that you did not plan. Like I sweep the deck and at the same time, since I'm there, I put away a couple of flowerpots that have been sitting there for a while. Then, in the evening, before bed, I make a list of all the things I DID DO that day. It's really helpful and encouraging....
Also, and I learned this from a certified Project Manager...break down projects into small steps or tasks. Sit down and plan out every tiny little detail and write it down step by step. Then, just do a few steps and cross them off. I've been able to tackle a couple of big projects at the same time using this method...do a couple steps on Project 1, then do a couple on Project 2 and sooner or later...both get done.
Good luck and may the garden gods smile upon you!
