I like to get salvias (and other plants) that bloom mostly during my growing season and not ones that don't bloom until late fall or during winter, so it eliminates some salvias I won't be able to grow and enjoy in my zone 6a garden.

The Pineapple (elegans) salvias I like to grow every year, but even though they start blooming late, those flowers are so beautiful and memorable along with their fragrant leaves, that I can't resist, even if I only get a few weeks of the flowers, I'm happy. Lovey dubby
