I believe they seed in the spring, just like regular maples. (do you have those in AZ??)

Many years ago, Dave and I grew bunches and bunches from seed- it was pretty fun! Of course, they aren't as wonderful as the named varieties, but many (most?) retain at least some if not most of the attributes of the mother plant.
