This is what my daughter did with her airplants: She found an old picture frame and varathaned it then wound wire back and forth in a grid on tiny nails. She clipped her airplants to the wires with orchid butterfly clips. She squirts the plants with the sprayer on her kitchen sink (but sometimes she soaks the whole frame). She doesn't worry about the frame as she got it at the thrift store for $2.00.

You could also use a piece of chicken wire in the frame.
