I first thought of TB Glitter Gulch, a vibrant yellow that is outstanding in the garden with lovely spoons/wings.

But I finally decided on Hagar's Helmet, a lovely mellow yellow IB that was introduced in 1977. Horns or spoons on a short bloom stalk.

I have several clumps of Thornbird and some of the blossoms in one clump have both horns and spoons and I really enjoy seeing what it blooms with but it is not my favorite right now. Perhaps with the gloomy weather yellow just seems more cheerful.
Thro' all the tumult and the strife I hear the music ringing; It finds an echo in my soul— How can I keep from singing?
