We really would need to see a picture, to figure out what you mean by the "skin". The whole beauty of this site is the ability to show other gardeners pictures of your plants (and especially their anomalies). Now I'm consumed with curiosity!
If the leaves themselves are a nice green, shiny and leathery, sort of stiff in appearance, I don't think you have much to worry about though.
