It's been around 90+ degrees in the greenhouse. I've have two fans, the four roof windows and door open and two shade clothes on top, and I still am getting readings up in the high 80's-92, so it's time to start to shut it down for the season. The air temps here have been 70-80, so it's been a hot spring so far. Does anyone else shut their greenhouses down during the hot weather, or do you just keep it going somehow. I was thinking that I may take the oppurtunity to grow a couple heat tolerant plants just for kicks, but what could grow when the temps are going to be way over 100? Cactus is the only thing that comes to mind? I usually take this time to clean things up. Refresh the benches with some paint, clean the inside with a fungicide and give the outside a light power wash. What are your thoughts?
