Oh! Lovely photos KD! My first time to see achuete plant, have only seen the seeds which we use for the food coloring in some of our recipes.
Interesting to see the similarities in the names, and how we call the plant in our Fil language too:
achote = achuete
sigidiyas = sigarilyas
papaya =papaya
laguana = had to check what we call it, to us it is guyabano
seboyas= sibuyas = onions; if it is scallions though, we call it sibuyas na mura
suni = gabi= taro

Love the grilled chicken! Makes me hungry!!
