At one time there were four hummers around at a time yesterday. The little male was not liking new new arrivals! He'd sit out on tree branches and guard "his" feeder, looking around in all directions. How dare they come here! He chased the newbies off whenever he could.
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White
