I found the first scapes of the season yesterday. There are four each on the two Miss Victoria plants we have, not a suprise for it is a small flower and is usually the first to bloom, but---last year the first to bloom was the large flowered Tribal Council, and it has five scapes on it. I consulted my list and last year large flowered Katherine Caldwell as an early bloomer, haven't found a scape on it yet. The big thrill was finding the first scape on Dragonfly Dawn. This plant did not put up any scapes last year--it was new, but it looked large enough to have bloom stalks, however, did not happen. So, really looking forward to seeing this one bloom for the first time whenever it matures. It is really exciting when the new season starts and right now with all the rain and mild temps we've had, the daylilies are looking wonderful, so hoping for a great year.
