I noticed some (but not all) of the flowers on this K. blossfeldiana plant that @Paul2032 captured have 5 petals.

Wonder what the fun, nerdy science behind that is? A cultivar that didn't fully "take?" A defining characteristic of the Kal's I've had the pleasure to have/study all have 4 petals ... except the double-flower K. blossfeldiana cultivars. Which, unfortunately is only about 20 so far (species, not cultivars.)

If anyone knows of a Kal species with other than 4 petals, pls share!
