Though I've grown it for years, I've never had it potted.

It will need division or it could break the container.

Mine (seven of them) continue to expand at the edges but the center has never gone lifeless or vacant.


You'd probably do best to invert the pot and divide with a saw meant for gardening - not electric. The rootball is tough to penetrate.
