I enjoy my plants
so much that the bi-annual ritual of bringing them in for winter and taking them out in the spring is not a burden, but an act of love. There is pleasure in seeing them grow larger each year, even if you can hardly tell that some have gotten any bigger at all.
It is quite joyful
to start from seed or propagate by cuttings. And terribly sad
to lose a treasured plant.
But adding a new plant to my collection helps me get over the loss.
I don't need any excuse to buy another plant though, it just helps
