Sebastopol isn't growing, Sherry. It's almost doing the opposite, in fact. When I moved here 25 years ago, the population was 7,500. It started inching up a few years later and almost reached 7,800, but now it's back down to 7,500 again.
"Downtown," the busy part of Main Street where most of the stores are clustered, is still only one block long, with a few businesses scattered in the adjacent blocks. We do have a MacDonald's and a Taco Bell on the outskirts of town, but Kentucky Fried Chicken and the two 7-11's packed up and left years ago. It's not the right town for fast food.
Oops, I almost forgot to comment on the fabulous color of that Salvia.
