They are both Euphorbia and both invasive (as you have discovered). Control is tough. Pulling, digging and herbicides are what it takes. If you have tried herbicides like Round-up, try Brush Killer. If you spray in the fall when plants are starting to go dormant, the brush killer is much more affective as it gets pulled down into the roots.

In the mean time, pull and dig. The seeds can shoot in all directions up to 15 feet so get them before they go to seed.
