Hi Epilove, I also have a very hot humid climate during the summers. I keep my epis under the live oak trees in my back yard. Some are on the north end, but get great morning and mid-day light, some are on the south end, where they get very bright filtered light all day. Some on the east side get deep shade in the mornings and bright, but heavily filtered light during the afternoon. My suggestion is to watch your plant closely and see where it thrives. It will let you know when it is happy.
