Hi Sandy, I agree with everyone on the identification of your plant in question ... that's definitely P. bipinnatifidum. I've had a group of them growing in my side yard for 36+ years now. With our last two harsh winters and all the ice I wondered if they would survive but they came back like troopers once again even though we had numerous nights in the low to mid 20's and days that didn't even reach 40ºF! I consider the tree philo's quite hardy. I would love to read your article!
