I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! Plant Identifier
bulb and are you sure you bought daylilies? were they thick looking roots or were they round looking 'balls'? You may have purchased asiatics or oriental lilies. They are not the same. They grow on a tall thick stalk and will take 'forever' to sprout to where you can see them. The daylilies should have had a 'crown' or top to it, where you plant the soil up to that, and even though bagged, would probably have at least some little sprouting already going on.

here is a pic of bulbs

here is a pic of daylily roots , although yours would have been probably smaller tops since they were dried and bagged.

edited to say what a dunce I am, because you even have a name LOL Strawberry Fields Forever IS a daylily!
