My neighbor moved an old carpet that had been on the ground for some time; this was underneath:

Rosy Wolf Snail with a clutch of eggs. These snails eat other snails and slugs so they are good to have in the garden.

Later I was heading out through the gate to the back yard but stopped when I saw this:

It's a Yellow Rat Snake, another good garden critter.
