My sons started some asparagus for his first year of gardening. We have been told that asparagus is tricky to grow. Should he "study' proper methods to grow asparagus? I believe he bought some asparagus starters at a local store near him. Are you saying he should not harvest and eat them his first year? Help. New to growing asparagus.
