I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database!
I have been successful growing lilies in my garden. I planted asiatics, orientals and x longiflorum and the latter are THE ONES. Some bulbs were planted by themselves and many I interplanted with roses, hoping they would peek through the rose bushes. It hasn't quite worked that way as it seems the lily stems are not strong enough to push their way through. Just sayin'...

Also, if you are in a semi-country setting where deer think your yard was created for their enjoyment, beware! they love the darned lilies. I only get to enjoy about 50% of the blooms as these pests get to them during the night when nobody is looking.
