I have (well maybe I should say had) a gorgeous doublefile viburnum in my back yard that was somewhere around 7' or 8' tall. Yesterday, my husband pointed out that one side of it and only one side had leaves all dried up and looking like the shrub was dying. He watered it but it really does look dead. I have scratched the bark on some of the limbs and found the strangest thing. On some limbs there is live green wood at the end of the limb but where the limb joins to the main part of the shrub it has brown wood and appears to be dead. Have any of you ever had a shrub do something like this?
