Interesting report, Becky. I just acquired 'Betty Warren Woods' this year and have yet to see it bloom, so I very much hope that you are correct about it being a good opener, and the flowers being larger than the registered size. (Normally I would not buy a plant with such a relatively short scape, but rust resistance... and I am wondering if it will help in the poly "program" (putting on airs, I am... talking about a "program"... Rolling my eyes. ).)

One thing that I have noticed here is that 'Magical Indeed', which has 'Betty Warren Woods' in the background, has very much been a thrip magnet. I almost want to spray it with something... (which is saying a lot). I wonder if this thrip magnet trait comes from the BWW... Confused 'Magical Indeed' is not a great opener here; perhaps it gets that trait from other plants in its parentage.

May I ask how the bud count and branching are? ('Magical Indeed' has been disappointing on that score; I hope it is not due to BWW.)
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom
