Have alot to mow several acres. We mow continuously but we have a business and have to keep it under control. The section not used just grows. I would love to develop it for wild life. DH mows way too short but he says he doesn't have to mow as often, I disagree he has to mow more because the weeds get started. We don't fertilize or weed control because me and my animals are in it all the time.

Have a friend in a housing addition and has to mow every 3 days because in my opinion the over use of chemicals from the people who are hired. She asked if I wanted her clippings told her no, she needed to put a skull and crossbones on those bags. Now having said all that her lawn is beautiful, I just know it is not good for us or the streams. One evening I was waiting for her to get home to meet me. The porch light was on and it dawned on me there were not any bugs flying around it...and no it wasn't a special light. That spoke millions to me.

If I had a normal lot like in a subdivision I would try to get rid of the sod and do flowers and paths.
