I'm having a problem with mine....planted 3 about a month ago and they're suffering a lot of what appears to be a burn. Thought maybe it was due to adding too much osmocote fertilizer, but then realized I went far too long without watering. But the area is heavily shaded, and i thought it had plenty of wet soil. Now, all 3 look like they're going to come back with a little bit of healthy growth (maybe one leaf without burn) coming from the middle of the plant. Another concern is that I planted them in a bed of well established ivy ground cover, but that doesn't seem to be interfering at the moment (no new ivy growth choking out the ferns or anything). Just wondered if ivy was a bad companion plant for ferns in general.
Oh by the way, I also have 3 ostrich ferns planted in the same bed, and 2 of them are even worse off than the others. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
