That photo of PI made me cringe. I live in a similar situation - woods and wetlands beyond the property and I have a PI forest back there. I always wear heavy gloves when gardening and never go barefoot since PI seedlings can grow in lawns, most getting cut off by the mower. Tiffany has a good suggestion with the plastic bags. If you can pull the plants after it rains, they do come up easier. Even if you kill the plant with boiling water, all parts of the plant can give you that rash.
