Hi & Welcome!
It doesn't look like ivy but more like Hexastylis arifolia or a similar species.
Do the leaves have a ginger-like fragrance if crushed? (wash hands after checking)
In which state was the plant found?
Was it in a woodland area?
Can you get a photo of the stems of the plant? (including the base of the stems near the soil)
