I have spent a LOT of time on Fernwood's site since they hold the national colection I was hoping to find out something about a grandiflora from Keston which i saw mentioned in a 1916 garden magazine from England.
I was refering to North Hills as i was wondering if it is possible that "pittoni montanum" came from there already with a wrong name. I suppose it could be pittoni x montanum but that does not explaine it's much bluer color than either if the species. I'm considering joining the Scottish Rock Garden Society so i can get into their Sempervivum records . Or i could just let it go and call it a NOID but it is a consistantly good grower and just a very nice little semp. I hope it will flower at the same time as something reasonable to x with it.
Just curious ...how long ago did North Hills close?
