I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! Plant Identifier
looking closely they seem to have stems and are all perfectly formed, I am thinking it is some kind of mushroom.

It is my understanding that slug eggs need consistent moisture and would be laid more under the mulch to stay moist. This is most definitely a fungus(mushroom) of some type.
