I've had t5s for a while. They work great and are available in a lot more sizes. Most shop lights are 4' lengths so if you want a shorter length you might need to to to t8s or t5s. Also, many shop lights need to be hard wired so if you go that route be sure you buy the kind that can be suspended from chains, don't have to be hard wired into a ceiling.
