I don't know a lot about hens and chicks (are they also called "chicks and hens"?...I think it's just "hens and chicks"...), but my guess is that they are just suffering from a lack of sunlight. I would gradually introduce them to sunlight; if you stick them out in the spring/summer sun all of a sudden, they might go into shock.
