I have had rhizomes bloom in the fall of the year planted only three times, once was last year with one that Sherry sent me, Grape Echos, and once it happened to one I got from Schreiners called Wild Jasmine, and once it was with Immortality, when I dug it from one spot and moved it to another. Otherwise it's not very common, but there's always a chance. BTW Are You Free is a plicata. Hilarious! and so is Force Field.

Good to know, I'll keep my expectations low and my hopes high, then. As for the placatas, I realized after I said it that Are You Free was--it wasn't a picked-out-and-paid-for iris, so I'd forgotten about it--but I didn't realize Force Field was a plicata! you're right!
