I have done it both ways, I planted some as I went along harvesting this time. I planted some a several weeks back that I had in the fridge since last season. We were gone a month and when we returned the other day I had some new seedlings. Now if I can just keep the critters from digging them all up. I have a very good germination rate with the seeds, but the life expectancy of the seedlings is very short due to the squirrels and other critters digging them up. Even with wire cages over them, even lizards get in and dig them and small frogs did them up. Out of a hundred seedlings only a few will ever live to bloom in my garden.
