I just learned this one. I was talking to my 93 year old mother in-law's older sister and she told me it was lucky that I had lots of daffodils in the garden. It seems that they repel evil spirits and bad luck. I wonder if they're talking about the four legged variety?
She also thought it was great that I had iris because not only do they repel evil spirits and bad luck but they also prolong life. Got them in both the front and back gardens.
I also have peonies which ensure prosperity and as we know will ensure our daughter will be beautiful (she is, she looked just like a peony flower when she was little)
