I hate whiteflies and aphids - all of them. They also seems to come in hordes with the ants. If I get rid of one and not the other, they will replenish each other. I've watched ants walking aphids into my garden!
You've probably already done all this, but I plant ladybug attracting plants and release green lacewing eggs into the garden weekly. When I first noticed the cloud of whiteflies when I bumped a plant, I sprayed neem oil on the underside of every garden plant that wasn't in bloom. (Gotta watch out for the bees.) What I've been able to research says that neem tends to not take out the lacewings or ladybugs all that much since it targets bugs that eat the leaves. Anyway, I only did that once and after about a week went to the predator bugs. I also look for damaged leaves and look under them to squish anything I see there. SO FAR, constant vigilance, but their numbers are pretty low. I guess if they were completely eradicated, the predator bugs would go live somewhere else and I don't want that. They do a much better job catching things before they are an issue than I ever would. Plus, I love finding ladybug larva in the garden!
