Welcome! I agree with Donald, please check the base of the plant for woodiness to narrow down the possibilities. If it is woody, then it could perhaps be a Viburnum or Cornus because the leaves are opposite. Chionanthus is another. Not many woody plants have opposite leaves. A close up of a leaf to show if it has any teeth would also help. The soil is disturbed beside the plant, did someone try to dig it up?
